SPECTACULAR SUNRISE OVER ANGKOR WAT & BLESSING DAY
An unforgettable day – a spectacular sunrise over the most beautiful ancient temple of Angkor Wat.
Wake before dawn and heading to the stunning Angkor Wat. While the crowds are flocking towards the front entrance, we will head to the quieter secret back entrance. Gets your own spot and patiently wait while the sun slowly lightens the sky revealing the dark silhouette of the temple towers, gets your camera ready and enjoy your shooting. Then visit the Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks - the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond. Back to hotel for Breakfast.
In the afternoon visit Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Its appeal lies in the fact that, unlike the other monuments of Angkor, it was abandoned and swallowed by the jungle, looking very much the ways most of the Angkor temples appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them.
Visit Angkor Thom: The royal city of Angkor Thom covers an area of 10 square kilometers and was built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII from 1181 to 1201. Surrounded by a long wall and a deep ditch, this city contains Angor's most popular sightseeing spots. The footpath of the south gate is lined on both sides with statues of gods and demons, each carrying a huge naga, and grants entry into Angkor Thom. In the center of Angkor Thom are the main temples such as the Bayon, Baphuon, the Elephant Terrace, and Terrace of the Leper King, Phimänakas and the former Royal Palace.
